Proud Performance from Budleigh U12s at Kennford

Budleigh U12s in action away at Kennford Dynamos

Our U12s travelled to Kennford for an away friendly against Kennford Dynamos, a side currently sitting top of their league. Despite the final scoreline of a 4–0 defeat, this was a performance full of positives and plenty of encouragement for everyone involved.

In difficult conditions and with an early start, the boys showed great commitment, energy and resilience throughout. The passing play was a real highlight, with clear signs that the work being done in training is starting to pay off on the pitch.

As coach Martin reflected after the game, the team played exceptionally well against very strong opposition. He praised the improvement in passing, the defensive performance and the overall application of the players, noting that Preston was rarely called into action thanks to how solid the back line was. Credit also goes to Kennford’s coaches, who commented afterwards on how tough the match had been and how well Budleigh had played.

U12s manager Craig echoed those sentiments, highlighting the incredible effort shown by every player. Energy levels were high from start to finish, teamwork was excellent and the standard of passing continues to improve week by week. While every player deserved recognition, Freddie stood out on the day and was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding defending and teamwork.

Although the result didn’t go our way, this was a brilliant team performance against top-quality opposition and one the boys should be proud of.

We go again next week, confident that the lads will continue to give everything they’ve got. The attitude, effort and determination they are showing — even in the face of defeats — is exactly what will drive their development moving forward.
